

Ariana Grande has officially found her next film role. Following her career-defining role as Galinda/Glinda in Universal’s Wicked-which earned her numerous accolades in this past year’s awards circuit, including a Best Supporting Actress Oscar nom-Grande was quickly pursued by several film studios eager to attach her to their upcoming projects. Now, it seems that the actress/singer has decided to keep it in the Universal family, choosing to star in the upcoming Meet the Parents sequel alongside original cast members Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller, Teri Polo, and Blythe Danner, Deadline reports. The film is rumoured to be eyeing a November 2026 release date.
Plot details are currently under wraps, as are official details regarding Grande’s role in the story. John Hamburg, co-scribe of the first three Meet the Parents installments, is slated to direct and write the script. The first film, released in 2000, grossed over $330 million at the box office. It was followed by Meet the Fockers (2004) and Little Fockers (2010). The franchise together had grossed $1.13 billion globally.
Grammy winner Ariana Grande received enormous praise for her part in the first part of the Wicked musical duology alongside Cynthia Erivo. The duo will next be seen in Wicked: For Good, flying into theaters November 21, 2025.
