Anna Faris, Craig Robinson, And More Join ‘My Spy’ Sequel

Amazon Prime Video has revealed who will be joining the cast for the sequel to their 2020 hit, My Spy. An article by Deadline revealed that much of the cast from the original film will be returning, including Dave Bautista, Chloe Coleman, Kristen Schaal, Ken Jeong. Big names joining the cast for the sequel include Anna Faris, Flula Borg, and Craig Robinson.

Though few specifics are known about the film, production on the sequel is set to begin this month and will shoot on location in South Africa and Italy with a release date of either later this year or early 2024. Other names returning to the project are Nicola Correia-Damude, Noah Dalton Danby, and Devere Rogers. Billy Barratt and Taeho K.

The original film follows Bautista, playing a CIA operative, and the relationship he has with the nine-year-old he is forced to take care of. The sequel similarly has Bautista looking after the same girl, now a teenager, on her school trip to Europe where they both get entangled in an international terrorist plot targeting the CIA.

Though not originally successful at the box office, due in large part to premiering during the Summer of 2020, My Spy surprisingly found its audience on streaming, where it became the third most streamed film of the year.
