Angelina Jolie And David Oyelowo To Star In Reimagined Fantasy ‘Come Away’

Angelina Jolie and David Oyelowo have officially been cast as the parents in the combined reimagining of Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan called Come Away, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The film portrays the classic characters Alice and Peter as brother and sister. After the loss of their older brother, the two watch their parents (Jolie and Oyelowo) fall into a deep despair which causes them to need to choose between the painful real world or the magical fantasy worlds from which we know them best. The film serves to be an interesting mix between the two original stories, and it will be fun to watch what unfolds on screen through this collaboration.

The film will be directed by Brave‘s Brenda Chapman. Although she won an Oscar for her work on the Pixar flick, this will be Chapman’s live-action debut.

The film will be produced by Leesa Kahn, James Spring, and Andrea Keir. Marissa Kate Goodhill penned the script.

Jolie is currently working on the sequel to Disney‘s Maleficent, and Oyelowo can be seen on the upcoming Chaos Walking.
