Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn look like their in for wild time in the upcoming raunchy comedy Snatched. The duo portray mother and daughter looking for fun and adventure on a spontaneous vacation to Ecuador. That is, until they get kidnapped. The first look of the comedy – in both red-band and more safe-for-work form – has debuted. The film is set to open in theaters just in time for Mother’s Day.
Jonathan Levine, the director behind 50/50, The Night Before and The Wackness, helms the comedy from script by Katie Dippold (Ghostbusters, The Heat) in which Schumer portrays an extroverted young woman who upon getting dumped by her boyfriends persuades her cautious mother (Hawn) to join her on an impromptu vacation. Based on the events from the trailer, things seemingly only get worse from there. The ensemble cast includes Ike Barinholtz (Sisters), Randall Park (The Interview), Christopher Meloni (Man of Steel), Wanda Sykes (Bad Moms) and Colin Quinn (Grown-Ups).
The film marks Schumer’s first big-screen film since starring and penning the 2015 hit Trainwreck, a film directed by Judd Apatow that earned the Emmy winning comic a Golden Globe Award nomination. Miraculously, the film marks the first film the Oscar winning Hawn has appeared in since the 2002 comedy The Banger Sisters.
Check out the red-band trailer for Snatched below. The film hits theaters on May 12, 2017.
