‘Amityville: The Awakening’ Delayed Again

Amityville: The Awakening’s summer release date has been pulled. Originally planned for a January 2015 release by The Weinstein Co. and Dimension Films, the horror sequel was subsequently moved to April 2017, re-shuffled for January 6, then postponed to June 30th before being yanked from the summer lineup.

In the latest installment of the classic horror franchise, a single mother and her two young children move into a new home. Her young son is comatose but mysteriously recovers as other bizarre phenomena take place. Bella Thorne (Boo! A Madea Halloween), Jennifer Jason Leigh (The Hateful Eight), Cameron Monaghan (TV’s Gotham), Thomas Mann (Kong: Skull Island) and Kurtwood Smith (TV’s Agent Carter) star. Franck Khalfoun (I Lived) helmed from his own screenplay.

No new release date has been announced.

Karen Earnest: A psychologist by profession, Karen was an early fan of movie musicals, sci-fi films, and black and white classics. She lives in Los Angeles County, where "the sun shines bright, the beaches are wide and inviting, and the orange groves (used to) stretch as far as the eye can see" (quoting Sid in L.A. Confidential)
