Amber Heard to Join ‘The Danish Girl’

Amber Heard (3 Days to Killis in talks to join director Tom Hooper’s (The King’s Speech) upcoming movie, The Danish Girl according to Deadline. Heard would star opposite Eddie Redmayne who is currently staring in The Theory of Everything.

The Danish Girl is based on a novel by David Ebershoff. Set in 1930 it follows two married Danish painters Einar and Gerda Wegener. Einar Wergner (Redmayne) was on of the the first men to undergo operations to become a woman. Heard will play the supporting character Oola. Alicia Vikander (Anna Karenina) will play Einar’s wife, Gerda.

This marks a change for Heard’s film choices; recently, she has starred mainly in action and horror films. With Hooper’s awards pedigree, directing The King’s Speech and Les Miserables, the actress seems to be looking for more serious roles.

The Danish Girl is currently in pre-production. No released date has been announced.
