“Avengers” star Jermy Renner has updated his fans today on his condition on Twitter. The bruised and swollen actor was getting a “spa treatment” in his hospital room thanks to his mother and sister.
Today’s update is the first video message since the January 1st snowplow accident, which has left him with “blunt force trauma and orthopedic injuries.”
The hospital room video is captioned, “A not no great ICU DAY turned to an amazing spa day with my sister and mama. Thank you sooooo much.”
Renner can be heard in the video give insight on his first shower in a week, which he found “gross.”
Washoe County Sherriff Darin Balaam commented during the accident that a family member got stuck on an unplowed road near Renner’s home. The actor used his PistenBully snowcat to help pull the vehicle to safety, however, during the time Renner got out to talk with the family member, the PistenBully rolled forward and crushed Renner. Due to the injuries he sustained from the plow and unplowed roads by the country, he was airlifted to a hospital.
Renner’s publicist Sam Mast updated the public, “As of now, we can confirm Jeremy is in critical but stable condition with injuries suffered after experiencing a weather-related accident while plowing snow earlier today,” Mast continued, “His family is with him; and he is receiving excellent care.”
“He was helping someone stranded in the snow,” Reno Mayer Hillary Schieve said about the accident. “He is always helping others.”
On January 3rd, Renner’s spokesperson released this statement: “Jeremy’s family would like to express their gratitude to the incredible doctors and nurses looking after him, Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue, Washoe County Sheriff, Reno City Mayor Hillary Schieve and the Carano and Murdock families.” Renner’s spokesperson continues, “They are also tremendously overwhelmed and appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from his fans.”
Renner himself took to Instagram to post a battered selfie saying, “Thank you all for your kind words. Im too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all.”
Disney and Marvel are yet to comment on Renner’s accident, however, his “Avengers” co-stars Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans have sent their well wishes. “Speedy recovery buddy. Sending love your way!” Hemsworth said. Evans followed suit with “tough as nails. Love you buddy.”
