Rising actor Alan Ritchson recently predicted that his upcoming sci-fi film at Netflix will be the streaming company’s “biggest movie ever”, MovieWeb reports.

First gaining attention in the Amazon Prime action series Reacher, Ritchson has quickly made a name for himself, with numerous projects in the pipeline. In a recent interview on the Wired web series Autocomplete Interview, he briefly discussed several of these projects, including the sci-fi production titled War Machine:

War Machine for Netflix, I think, and you heard it here first, probably gonna be the, no, not probably, gonna be the biggest movie that Netflix has ever had. This movie is gonna be a monster. This is the coolest thing they’ve ever made, guaranteed.

From a script co-written by Patrick Hughes and James Beaufort and directed by Hughes, who also did Expendables 3 and The Hitman’s Bodyguard. War Machine is about “the final recruits of a grueling special ops boot camp who encounter a deadly force from beyond this world,” according to the film’s synopsis on IMDB.

The film began production in September 2024, with principal photography set in Victoria, Australia. Joining Ritchson in the cast will be Stephan James, Jai Courtney, Dennis Quaid, Esai Morales, and Daniel Webber.

A release date for War Machine has yet to be announced, but it is likely to be released later this year.
