Alan Rickman’s Personal Diaries Will Be Released Posthumously

Alan Rickman’s personal diaries are expected to be released on October 18, 2022. The unfinished project, titled Madly, Deeply: The Diaries of Alan Rickman, contains 27 handwritten volumes dating from the 1990s to the end of 2015. Rickman’s writings will be preceded by an introduction by Kate Winslet, who starred with Rickman in Sense and Sensibility (1995) and A Little Chaos (2014), and will conclude with an afterword by his widow Rima Horton.

Rickman, known for his role as Severus Snape in the Harry Potter series, had always wanted to publish his diaries before his unexpected death in 2016 from pancreatic cancer. The actor was also anticipated to be part of the sequel to Galaxy Quest. He portrayed Alexander Dane, who played Dr. Lazarus, in the original 1999 movie.

Rickman’s diaries are now available for preorder.

Valeri Vankov: I recently graduated high school and will be moving from Bulgaria to attend Yale University in the fall. My interests range from data science to finance to trends in the entertainment industry. When it comes to movies, I am always down for a good social commentary or a psychological thriller. K-dramas are also on my watchlist. In my free time I enjoy going outdoors and reading the works of Haruki Murakami, Kurt Vonnegut, and others.
