In My Blind Brother, Adam Scott and Nick Kroll play brothers whose sibling rivalry becomes tested first, by an upcoming charity swim competition and second, by the emergence of Jenny Slate, as a woman both of whom pine. A perhaps rather slight log line, but this offbeat comedy – written and directed by Sophie Goodhard – has played well on the 2016 festival circuit and features a strong ensemble cast. A trailer has finally hit online.
Scott, fresh from his tenure on Parks and Recreation (a serious that also featured Kroll and Slate in prominent roles), portrays the titular blind brother, an athletic smooth operator while Kroll is his dutiful sibling, seemingly always in the shadows. Things may be upturned by Slate’s character. The ensemble cast also includes Zoe Kazan (Ruby Sparks).
My Blind Brother premiered at SXSW where Goodhart won the Gamechanger Award. The film has also played at the Tribeca Film Festival and the Seattle Film Festival. Starz acquired the film quickly outside of SXSW. My Blind Brother will hit theaters and VOD on September 23rd. Check out the trailer below.
