A24’s ‘Y2K’ Releases First Trailer

The long-awaited trailer for Kyle Mooney’s Y2K is finally here. Released on Tuesday morning, the trailer gives viewers an inside to the horror-comedy event that follows the story of the New Year’s Eve of 1999, in a turn of events where technology did take over.

This film stars Jaeden Martell, Rachel Zegler, and Julian Dennison, who are known for their roles in It, West Side Story, and Deadpool, respectively. We see these three actors’ battle technology come to life as they welcome the 2000s in their own, unique way. The rest of the cast features Daniel Zolghadri, Lachlan Watson, Fred Durst, Kyle Mooney, Eduardo Franco, and many more.

Y2K is financed and produced by A24, alongside “[Evan] Winter, Matt Dines, Ali Goodwin and Jonah Hill (Mid90s) of Strong Baby, and The Bear creator Christopher Storer under his American Light & Fixture banner. Wētā Workshop oversaw the film’s design and practical effects,” all according to Deadline.

Y2K will be released in theatres Dec 6, 2024.
