Today A24 announced new Irish horror film, No One is Coming. Along with the announcement of the film, the cast was also released which includes, Louis McCartney (Hope Street), Jessica Reynolds (Kneecap), Sky Yang (Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire) and Gabriel Nagy (Extra Geography). Set to direct the movie is Ronan Corrigan, who’s had his directorial debut last year with LifeHack. No other information has been released about the film as of now.
Corrigan’s first film, LifeHack, was a screenlife film that released last year at the SXSW film festival and followed a group creating a heist to rob a billionaire of their cryptocurrency. The movie was produced by Timur Bekmambetov (Unfriended) who has worked on other screenlife films. In an exclusive interview with Horrorgeeklife, Corrigan stated, “We base our characters off true stories of these kids getting into crypto scams, getting into SIM swapping, getting into all kinds of nasty stuff on the dark web.” The movie came from Corrigan’s experience with internet culture which pushed Corrigan to be more accurate when making the film. “That was a big thing that we wanted. Our rule was always we didn’t want any magic buttons. We didn’t want a button that said hack and the black and green script. Sometimes, we sped up things, but we always wanted it to have an air of authenticity. I think that screenlife only really works when there’s that authenticity,” Corrigan said.
