We can’t stay silent about this – the sequel to John Krasinski’s psychological thriller A Quiet Place is currently delayed due to coronavirus. The star of The Office revealed back in March that the release for A Quiet Place 2 would be pushed back because of the global pandemic, but now we have a tentative date: September 4, 2020 (Labor Day).
On Twitter, Krasinski said, “As insanely excited as we are for all of you to see this movie…I’m gonna wait to release the film til we CAN all see it together! Here’s to our group movie date! See you soon!”
A Quiet Place 2, initially intended to be a 2020 summer blockbuster, was originally predicted for release in 2021, but Paramount Pictures is optimistically estimated a sooner date. The film is one of several Paramount has released dates for this week, including The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run and Top Gun: Maverick.
The film sees the return of Krasinski’s wife Emily Blunt as the matriarch of the Abbott family, who are fighting for survival in a post-apocalyptic world invaded by deadly aliens. Also returning are Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe, who play the Abbott children Reagan and Marcus, respectively. Cillian Murphy, better known as Jonathan Crane from the Dark Knight trilogy, joins the cast as a new character named Emmett, and Djimon Hounsou features as well in an undisclosed role.
