SDCC: Marvel Tokon’s Reveals New Character, Wingard Calls OnSlaught Godzilla’s Spiritual Sequence

mxdwn was able to attend San Diego Comic Con. Here is all of the panels mxdwn attended on Thursday, July 23.

At 11:15 to 12pm, mxdwn attended Marvel’s Wolverine for the gaming team. The moderator was Naomi Kyle. The panelists include Eric Monacelli, Walt Williams, Krizia Bajos, Jess Reiner-Reed, Mike Daly, Marcus Smith and Liam McIntyre. The panel discussed Logan’s trauma, how the game focuses on how mutants are perceived and Jean’s actions to win him over with her protective personality.

The theme song is written by David Fleming and.the soundtrack will be available August 28.

At noon until 12:45 mxdwn attended Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls with Josh Keaton, Takeshi Yamanaka, Amber Seitz, Michael Francisco, Mike Deodato and Sajam. Ray Chase will be the voice actor for the first official character Phoenix Cyclops, whose alter ego is Scott Summers. The original Wolverine suit was designed in the game, which further brings it to life. The game will be released August 6, 2026.

Stuart Fails to Save the Universe was from 2:15 to 3:15 and showed the first episode on-screen. The opening of the first episode shows Bert walking in a dystopian version of South Pasadena to go to the comic book store that protagonist Stuart owns.

Stuart further encounters a version of himself from another dimension, warning him that he must return to that universe to avoid the dystopia and chaos. Stuart and Bert embark on a journey to return to a different dimension. He reunites with ex-girlfriend Denise and her new boyfriend Gary who join them in their journey. Gary plans out an attack that results in his death.

Stuart also encounters Howard’s nemesis Barry Kripke who is the ruler of the dystopian world. One of the main characters Raj also came back as a prisoner and got included in the action. Bert shows Raj and Stuart how to make grenades using his geology skills. Denise gets taken by Barry to a secret room in attempts to coerce her but she attacks him and reunites with the three other protagonists. As Raj attempts to set the time travel machine that is in the shape of a microwave, Barry shoots Raj and leaves him to bleed out. Denise hides out as she and Stuart do the secret code on the microwave. Only Barry, Bert and Stuart are transformed to the peaceful dimension with its own twist.

Neon’s Hope panel was from 4:30 p.m. PST to 5:15 p.m. PST which had moderator Joanna Robinson

Interview panelist Na Hong-Jin and a translator. Hope showed two exclusive clips to the audience.

One was of a male police officer and a group of hunters shooting in the direction of the monster only to shoot the male police officer to warn him to keep running as they take off in his direction. As he travels, he takes one of the hunters in the direction of a garage and sees the monster face to face.

The second clip was of a female police officer and three other people in a cop car attempting to save a man on a horse from another monster that runs on two legs. The man on the horse jumps off to the cop car and shoots the monster as he brought it closer to them.

A24’s Onslaught held their panel from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The panel was moderated by Kevin Smith and the panelists included Adam Wingard, Adria Arjona, Dan Steven, Rebecca Hall and Drew Starkey. Hall, Steven and Wingard were all part of Godzilla vs. Kong. Wingard stated that Onslaught is a “Godzilla spiritual sequence.”

A teaser was shown where Celeste has a post traumatic flashback from her days in the military as she has to pick up a gun again and shoots with Jack-o-lanterns as practice to protect her daughter.
