Wonder Woman 1984 has had a pretty horrible road to release. Originally set for a December 2019 release, it was pushed back to June 2020 to avoid competing with Star Wars: Episode IX — The Rise of Skywalker (a choice this writer thinks was unnecessary). Then it was pushed to October 2020 because of COVID and then finally to December 25, 2020 also due to COVID. For a while it was ambiguous as to whether or not Wonder Woman 1984 would even see a release at all, with rumors suggesting it would be thrown to HBOMax to save costs. This was finally confirmed in mid-November that Wonder Woman 1984 would be released both in theaters and on HBOMax.
Now with early press screenings finally taking place, early reactions have fluttered onto Twitter. The main consensus is that Wonder Woman 1984 is very good and “the film we need right now.”
Critics like Brandon Davis:
I've seen #WonderWoman1984!@PattyJenks literally made an 80s movie in every way, making it so unique for today. It feels both bigger than the first WW while simultaneously more contained.
Lots of Diana Prince and some epic Wonder Woman moments as @GalGadot literally soars! pic.twitter.com/QluelKwYly

James Adans:
Yesterday I has invited by @wbpictures to see #WonderWoman1984 and what I can say is that I didn't expect to be so moved, laugh so much and fill me with love and hope. If 'No man's land' scene made you cry, get ready … Because there is a scene, just as powerful. So happy for DC pic.twitter.com/kvhjG5INUk

Meagan Damore:
Honored to have been among the first press to see #WonderWoman1984! I enjoyed the first film, but I loved #WW1984 even more. Although I wish we'd gotten the change to see it earlier, the movie came out at possibly the perfect time for its hope, optimism and message. pic.twitter.com/k2yY32UHrT

Have all praised the film equally. And it also appears that one fan had a very similar reaction as well:
I was invited by @WarnerBrosUK to see an early screening of the new @WonderWomanFilm yesterday and I’m still smiling.#WonderWoman1984 is the film the world needs right now, no matter what sized screen you get to see it on.
I’ll be sharing some non-spoiler thoughts very soon. pic.twitter.com/FJv2FSObsm

It appears that DC is continuing their track record of making pretty solid movies. The review embargo is set to lift on December 15th, so by then we should get a more precise score for how this movie will fair. But until then, things will continue to look good for Wonder Woman 1984.
