Warner Bros. has settled a release date for the forthcoming DC Comics adaptation Aquaman. The superhero title, which further expands Warner Bros.’ fledgling DC Comics Cinematic Universe, stars Game of Thrones alum Jason Momoa at Atlantis kingdom heir Arthur Curry aka Aquaman, and will come to the screen with director James Wan (Saw, The Conjuring). Aquaman is set to open in theaters – with presentations also in 3-D and IMAX – on October 5, 2018.
Momao made his DC debut the past spring with a cameo appearance in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. He will be introduced properly in Zack Snyder’s upcoming Justice League where Aquaman joins the ranks alongside Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman (Henry Cavill), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) and The Flash (Ezra Miller). Justice League will hit theaters on November 17, 2017. Amber Heard (The Danish Girl) and Willem Dafoe (Shadow of the Vampire) are set to co-star in Aquaman. Will Beall (Gangster Squad) wrote the screenplay from a story by Geoff Johns and Wan.
Mark your calendars – Aquaman will hit theaters on October 5, 2017.
