Jumping right into it, Diana (Gadot) stares at the photo Bruce Wayne discovered in Batman v Superman of herself during the first World War. “I used to want to save the world. This beautiful place, but the closer you get, the more you see the great darkness within. I learned this the hard way, a long, long time ago.”
Instantly, we are taken back to where Diana’s story first began when she rescues an injured pilot by the name of Steve Trevor (Pine). She quickly learns of the catastrophic war that rages on outside of her world. “It is our sacred duty to defend the world. And that’s what I’m going to do..” Diana urges her fellow Amazons. Guided by her sacred duty to the world she pushes forward and is taken to the United States where once she reveals herself, she will be known as the warrior demigoddess, Wonder Woman.
The film also stars Robin Wright and Connie Nielsen.
Wonder Woman will arrive in theaters June 2017.
