Paul Feig (Bridesmaids) has joined forces with Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson of TV’s Broad City to make a new feature film comedy for Twentieth Century Fox, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Glazer and Jacobson wrote the script, though no plot details have been released. The pair is best known for playing a couple of 20-something best friends living in Brooklyn on Comedy Central’s Broad City, a show they also write. As of now, they are not attached to star in the new film.
Feig has directed a number of comediennes as of late, including the ensemble of Bridesmaids, as well as Melissa McCarthy and Sandra Bullock in The Heat. His latest movie, Spy, starring McCarthy, will be released this summer. He is currently working on a new Ghostbusters movie starring McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones.
Feig will direct and produce this now comedy along with Jessie Henderson of his production company, Feigco. Glazer and Jacobson are currently in the the pre-production phase of the third season of Broad City. Fox hasn’t announced a release window for the untitled comedy.
