James Gunn (Superman) recently commented on someone’s thread post denying that Matt Reeves’ The Batman: Part II is being filmed simultaneously.  A post made by the account ‘movietalknow’ wrote,

@jamesgunn can you confirm or deny The Batman PT 3 is filming simultaneously with PT 2? Many are running the story as fact.

To which Gunn replied,

I can deny.

The sequel to Matt Reeves’ The Batman has already seen three delays, which originally had a release date back on October 26, 2025, and now has a release date of February 18, 2028. In a Variety article, Gunn is quoted as talking about the delay,

To be fair, a 5-year gap or more is fairly common in sequels. 7 years between Alien and Aliens. 14 years between Incredibles. 7 years between the first two Terminators. 13 years between Avatars. 36 years between Top Guns. And, of course, six years between Guardians Vol .2 and Vol. 3.

The Batman premiered March 4, 2024, and starred Robert Pattinson (Twilight) as the caped crusader. He was joined by Andy Serkis (Lord of The Rings: The Two Towers), Colin Farrell (In Bruges), and Zoe Kravitz (Mad Max: Fury Road). All are set to return for the sequel except for Zoe Kravitz. In September of 2024, a spin-off shows premiered following Farrell’s character, Oz “Penguin” Cobb, continuing where the first filmed left off.
