

Guillermo del Toro’s Pan’s Labyrinth gets two new releases in the wake of its 20th-year anniversary. The new releases include a book called Pan’s Labyrinth: The Complete Screenplay and a 20th anniversary edition of Guillermo del Toro’s Pan’s Labyrinth: Inside the Creation of a Modern Fairytale. The screenplay comes with new artwork, concept art, the full shooting script and other behind-the-scenes materials.
The anniversary edition, along with a revised and expanded version of the original book, comes with a new preface by del Toro and a foreword by Steven Spielberg (Jaws). The books come out on September 8th, and the anniversary edition can be pre-ordered on Insight Editions. The Anniversary edition with a signed edition priced at $350 and an unsigned version at $175. The screenplay edition can be pre-ordered on Barnes & Noble and any other site that sells books. The price for the screenplay varies from each site, with the lowest being $36.40 on Thriftbooks.
The movie itself came out on December 29, 2006, and centers around a girl named Ofelia, played by Ivana Baquero (Pan’s Labyrinth), as she must complete tasks to prove she is the reincarnation of a princess so she can gain immortality. She is met with adversity when she learns how violent her stepfather is, who is a captain of the Spanish army during World War 11.
