Warner Bros has put out the first full trailer for Interstellar, the latest effort from Christopher Nolan. Matthew McConaughey stars as an engineer sent on a mission to interstellar space. Michael Caine appears in the trailer as the mission coordinator and we also get glimpses of Anne Hathaway and Jessica Chastain. Christopher and Jonathan Nolan wrote the screenplay.
As a writing team, the Nolan brothers have written The Prestige and The Dark Knight, both stories about men who must step away from their loved ones in order to focus on their jobs, the same could also be said of C. Nolan’s more recent Inception. The two are sticking to what they know as McConaughey’s Cooper must leave his children behind in order to lead a mission searching for a new planet to save the human race. The future as imagined by Interstellar has Earth facing a food shortage brought on by a series of natural disasters and humanity will have to journey to other stars for salvation. Despite staying in familiar territory, the Nolans have enjoyed both commercial and critical success over the years.
Interstellar will reach theaters on November 7.
