Long time streaming service and entertainment provider Cinedigm is undergoing a big change. Branded as Cinedigm since 2013, the service has been a hotspot for entertainment and media streaming, boasting over 60,000 titles across movies and television, and now, 10 years later, they’ve decided to rebrand themselves under a new name: Cineverse.
Amidst the booming industry that is media streaming, it’s important to keep up with the competition and stand out from the crowd. When the name change was announced, Cineverse stated that they wanted to change the way that people discover streamed content, but have it all be connected by compelling and innovative stories.
Cineverse itself offers a vast variety of streaming plans across a multitude of genres. There’s bound to be one for just about everyone, whether they’re a fan of horror, anime, or anything else. On top of movies and television, they also offer a podcast network, with nearly 30 titles to offer.
Along with the name change, comes a change to its stock market as well, if ever so slightly. The stock symbol, originally CIDM, will change to CNVS. The change itself will be effective upon the stock opening Tuesday, May 23rd.
Variety reported that CEO Chris McGurk said, “our mission is to give audiences a level of access like never before to the vast universe of film and television entertainment through the power of our proprietary technology and the breadth of our content offerings.” The president of Cineverse, Erick Opeka, also added that it “made sense to consolidate our overall corporate identity under one brand.”
