The Zurich Film Festival has announced some more films filling out this year’s lineup, from festival favorites to exciting premieres. Club Kid, directed by Jordan Firstman, will be in Zurich after its premiere at Cannes earlier this year. The film follows a club promoter in New York whose life is turned upside down when he discovers he has a 10-year-old son.
Danny Boyle’s Ink has also been added, which follows media titan Rupert Murdoch’s rise to fame, and stars Jack O’Connell, Guy Pearce and Claire Foy. The Only Living Pickpocket in New York, the latest from Noah Segan, is a film where John Turturro plays an aging pickpocket who tries to make ends meet picking pockets in a city that is changing by the minute. Bunker, directed by Florian Zeller, stars Javier Bardem, Penélope Cruz, Stephen Graham, Paul Dano, and Patrick Schwarzenegger and is making its way to Zurich. It follows an architect who must test his morals when a billionaire commissions a survival bunker from him.
Other films just added include Babies, Eurotrash, Blood Money, A Bit of Light, Les Miserables, Adult Supervision, Back to Buenos Aires, and Think Good. When asked about the lineup, festival director Reta Guetg commented,
With these eleven additional Gala Premieres, we are bringing outstanding voices and stories from different parts of the world to Zurich. The programme ranges from the promising Club Kid by Jordan Firstman to new works by acclaimed filmmakers such as Ali Asgari, whose latest film will premiere in competition in Venice. The films also feature major names in front of the camera, including Penélope Cruz, Javier Bardem and John Turturro. With Adult Supervision, we are also presenting a film that is already being tipped as a potential Swedish Oscar contender. We are very much looking forward to celebrating these films with our audience at ZFF.
This year’s Zurich Film Festival runs from September 24-October 4.
