It’s been nearly five years since the release of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. Now although a Justice League movie did come out in 2017, many fans knew that this was not the version we were meant to get. A ‘Snyder Cut’ must exist somewhere out there. Well, after years of campaigning, we will see the release of Zack Snyder’s Justice League on March 18th, 2021. And what better what to celebrate Valentine’s Day than with a trailer?
The trailer shows a lot and yet very little. If you have been following this film since 2017, you may well know the context to every scene in the trailer. But for those who haven’t are in for a wild looking treat. Fresh with an R rating, we scene more graphic violence and scenes of tense despair. It also appears that the reshoots went off swimmingly as Jared Leto’s Joker does pop up in the end of the trailer alongside Ben Affleck’s Batman.
If you have seen Snyder’s previous work, this movie won’t stand out at all as it carries all his flares and signature cinematography. Unlike Justice League, this movie looks and feels like a Zack Snyder project. All the free reign and uncompromised vision is in full view here and it is truly glorious.
There’s so much to go over in the trailer that I simply cannot do it justice (hehehehe) here. But there are details that we do know as of right now: it will be rated R for strong violence and language, it will be four hours long without credits, there will be a ten minute intermission for the theatrical release version, and that if this does well, we may see the release of David Ayer’s Suicide Squad. But one step at a time, I suppose.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League will premiere on HBOmax on March 18th, 2021.
