The upcoming drama Prisoner 760 has just gained a new cast member. According to the Hollywood Reporter, actor Zachary Levi will be joining the cast of Prisoner 760 as a federal agent called Neil Buckland. Levi is, of course, best known for playing the titular character in Shazam! and voicing Flint Ryder in Disney’s Tangled.
The plot of Prisoner 760 is an adaptation of Mohamedou Ould Slahi’s memoir Guantánamo Diary, which he wrote during his incarceration. The book recounts the fourteen years Slahi was held prisoner by the US government in Guantanamo Bay for several years without being charged or tried. Guantánamo Diary was released in 2015 and became a best seller upon release.
Other cast members for the film include Shailene Woodley, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tahar Rahim, and Jodie Foster. Foster will be playing defense attorney Nancy Hollander, Cumberbatch has been cast as military prosecutor Lt. Stuart Couch, and Woodley will take on the role of Teri Duncan, an assistant of the defense attorney. French actor Tahar Rahim will be playing Mohamedou Ould Slahi.
Prisoner 760 is being directed by Kevin MacDonald, who directed One Day in September. This will mark another collaboration between him and Rahim, who previously appeared in another one of MacDonald’s films titled The Eagle. The script was written by 60 Minutes producer Michael Bronne.
