CinemaCon has brought about its usual string of big news for the movie industry. Among these new revelations is Sony adapting another big-name video game, set to bring Bloodborne to the big screen. First released in 2015, Bloodborne was an action RPG that finds the player navigating a strange, gothic world as they try to get to the bottom of a mysterious illness. Once the game came out, it immediately won over players of all kinds, going on to scored near-perfectly across all sorts of review websites, as well as multiple awards.
As Screenrant reported, one of the producers on board for Bloodborne is generating a lot of buzz thanks to his involvement. Seán McLoughlin, known online as Jacksepticeye, is going to be working on the film, marking his first time producing a feature film. A press release regarding the film even touched upon McLoughlin being a massive fan of Bloodborne, uploading several videos to YouTube about it, and even calling it one of, if not his favorite, video games ever. There’s still a way to go until fans can get a proper look at the film itself, but some details were revealed at CinemaCon regarding what to expect. Bloodborne is going to be a fully animated feature and is said to be sticking very closely to the game. Variety noted that it was even explicitly said at CinemaCon, during the confirmation of the film, that it would follow through with the bloody nature that came part and parcel with the game.
