In a move to flex their monopolistic nerd-muscle, according a number of media reports Disney will attach the next trailer for Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens with the upcoming release of Avengers: Age of Ultron which will release in the U.S. on May 1.
It is possible, however, that the trailer could come online as much as two weeks earlier, as it will apparently premiere at the upcoming Star Wars Celebration convention that runs from April 16 to 19. Avengers: Age of Ultron also releases internationally April 22. That’s a lot of potential for early leakage, so expect Disney to put out an HD version if it does, as they did with the first trailer for the Avengers sequel.
The teaser trailer for the The Force Awakens premiered all the way back in November of last year. Since then, more information has been slowly teased, including character names in the form of retro-style trading cards. This upcoming trailer is expected to be the first time we see the original trilogy’s leads – Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, and Carrie Fisher – return as their characters.
We’ll have the trailer as soon as it’s available online.
