Writer David Koepp Discusses Possible Sequel To ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’

Writer David Koepp(Jurassic World rebirth) hints to possible sequel to Jurassic World Rebirth. Jurassic World Rebirth, the seventh film in the franchise, made 869 million worldwide. With this being the seventh film in the trilogy, Koepp finds problems in creating another sequel. In a Screenrant interview he states, “You can’t say trilogy. You got to make one good movie. So now what about another good movie? How would we do that? I think that the challenge of Rebirth was the franchises have become very big, very spread out. Let’s make the dinosaurs special again by restricting them.”

The first movie in the franchise, Jurassic park, came out in 1993 which was adapted from a book of the same name published in 1990. The franchise since then has evolved in multiple ways. Each sequel has brought different islands, different characters, and different dinosaurs.

For Koepp his solution is as follows, “So we restricted them to this thing, and then the challenge becomes, okay, now how do we logically and in a scientifically believable way expand? That would be the question. If somebody can answer that, I think you’ll have a next movie.” As of now the sequel is only speculation and has yet to be greenlight by Universal Studios.
