‘Words on the Bathroom Walls’ Finds Leading Lady in Taylor Russell

The upcoming film Words on the Bathroom Walls (2018), directed by Diary of Wimpy Kid and Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters’ Thor Freudenthal and adapted to screenplay by Nick Naveda, has cast actress Taylor Russell to play Maya, the love interest of the plot’s leading male figure, Adam.

Russell is most easily recognized for her role in 2017’s YA adaptation Before I Fall and Netflix’s upcoming reboot of Lost in Space as Judy Robinson. Joining her is Charlie Plummer (All the Money in the World), who has been previously cast as Adam.

Based on the novel by Julia Walton, Words on the Bathroom Walls follows the life of Adam, a high school student struggling with paranoid schizophrenia and hallucinations. With the help of a trial-run drug, Adam finds peace from his life-altering disorder and visions at a new high school while desperately trying to hide his diagnoses from Maya, even as the drugs begin to fail.

According to Variety , Russell is certainly a face we should watch for in future leading female roles. With her initial casting in Lost in Space and now her addition to the cast of this well-known young adult story, she is becoming what looks like someone to be reckoned with.
