It’s just been announced that Will Smith, star of the upcoming drama Focus, is now attached to Paramount’s newest project, currently called Bounty. It centers on a man (Smith) who has been wrongly accused of murder and is trying to clear his name despite the justice system and the victim’s widow all coming against him.
Things are further complicated when the widow of the man he’d supposedly killed puts out a $10 million bounty on his head as he navigates the underground criminal world of Boston. The bounty is good whether he is alive or dead, which puts Smith’s character on the run for his life despite trying desperately to prove that he is in fact innocent of his crime. There’s no word yet on other casting.
Smith has been quite busy lately and will continue to stay busy, with his film Focus coming out next Friday, and a full slate of projects lined up for the future, including the football drama Concussion that comes out this holiday season. He is also set to play Deadshot in the upcoming adaptation of DC’s Suicide Squad.
