Will Smith in Gemini Man from Paramount Pictures, Skydance and Jerry Bruckheimer Films.

Will Smith must combat himself in the second trailer of his upcoming film Gemini Man. Smith’s character, Henry Brogan, is an aging assassin seeking to retire from his career but, when his clone self appears, Brogan must uncover the story behind the creation of this clone and try to lead him away from a path of destruction. During the trailer, a song called Icon, sung by Smith’s son Jaden Smith, plays while Brogan fights a younger cloned version of his character made to mess with his head.

The film is directed by Academy Award-winning director Ang Lee, most famous for his films Life of Pi and Brokeback Mountain. The screenplay was written by Game of Thrones co-creator, showrunner, and writer David Benioff along with Billy Ray and Darren Lemke. Also starring in the film are Clive Owen and Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Smith’s character’s former mentor and ally, respectively.

The original story was bought from Darren Lemke by Disney but, after 20 years of developmental limbo, Skydance Media, in association with Paramount, bought the rights film in 2016. Soon after, director Ang Lee was attached, and production began.

Gemini Man is set to be released in theaters on October 11, 2019.
