Relativity Media has released a new trailer for the upcoming horror movie The Lazarus Effect. The trailer, titled “Phases”, highlights the horrific transformation that Zoe (Olivia Wilde) goes through after her husband (Mark Duplass) and fellow scientists (Donald Glover, Evan Peters, and Sarah Bolger) bring her back to life.
With a loaded cast, there is a lot to look forward to in the directorial debut from cinematographer David Gelb, who is also in post-production on his documentary A Faster Horse. This is a change of pace for the two leads, Olivia Wilde (Rush) and Mark Duplass (Tammy), who are known for their indie efforts as of late. It’s the first straight horror movie for each actor.
With a February 27 release date, Relativity will be looking to capitalize during a time when studios release the films in which they have less confidence. Horror films typically attract young audiences regardless of critical opinion or momentum leading up to release.
