In the current court battle between Johnny Depp and ex-wife Amber Heard, Depp’s original defamation suit of $50 million dollars with the claim that her Washington Post article has cost him work has been counter-sued by Heard for $100 million along with the same claim in her favor.
Heard claims that due to Depp’s alleged defamation, her role as Mera in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom was made smaller and she had to put in work to even be included.
On Tuesday, a video clip of the testimony of DC Films President Walter Hamada was played for the court. In this video, Hamada claims that Heard’s role was reduced, due to her lack of chemistry with the film’s star Jason Momoa.
In the words of Hamada, the pair relied on the “magic of post production” in order to “fabricate” any chemistry seen on screen. He claims that Mera’s scenes were heavily edited and scored to make things feel more natural, and those behind-the-scenes believed the franchise would be better off with a different actor in the role.
