Disney and Marvel may have gotten their friendly neighborhood Spider-Man back, but Sony still has use of his nemesis Eddie Brock and his alien symbiote, Venom. Sony is moving ahead with their plans to make a sequel to their standalone Venom movie, and filming for Venom 2 is on track to start sometime this fall.
But this time Venom will be sharing the screen with another symbiote, because according to Comic Book Resources the villain Carnage will be making his live action debut in Venom 2. Like Venom, Carnage is a symbiote, an alien that can attach itself to a host and give their hosts superhuman abilities. In the comics Carnage is the offspring of Venom, but the two seem to lack a traditional familial bond. As a parasitic alien Carnage has had several hosts, but his most famous host is the serial killer Cletus Kasady.
Carnage is not the only new comer to Venom 2 though, because Screen Rant has revealed that the villainess Shriek will also be appearing too. Shriek is a villainess with super sonic abilities. In the comic books Shriek has been both an ally and a lover to Carnage’s host Cletus Kasady.
As of right now it is unknown what roles Shriek and Carnage will be playing in Venom 2. It is also unknown who will be playing these characters, however we do know that Tom Hardy will be reprising his role as Eddie Brock and Venom and Michelle Williams will be returning to play Anne. Ruben Fleischer, who directed the original Venom, will not be returning to direct. Instead Venom 2 is being directed by Andy Serkis.
