Venice Film Festival Releases Its 2022 Line Up

At the Library of the Biennale Historical Archive of Contemporary Arts in Venice, the officials of the Venice Film Festival have just announced the full competition line up as well as films that will run outside of the competition. As usual the list is lengthy and full of promising titles in categories such as fiction, documentaries, shorts, series, horizons extra, and horizons. Work from directors like Darren Aronofsky, Susanna Nicchiarelli, and Vahid Jalilvand will appear in competition this year to compete for the coveted Golden Lion.

Though not competing, mega films like the highly anticipated Olivia Wilde’s Don’t Worry Darling starring Florence Pugh and Harry Styles as well as Scarface writer Oliver Stone’s newest documentary will be featured at the festival. Additionally, television shows like Lars von Trier’s The Kingdom Exodus and Nicolas Winding Refn’s Copenhagen Cowboy will be appearing outside of the competition.

The 79th annual Venice Film Festival is scheduled to run from August 31st to September 10th. You can read the full competitive and non competitive film line up below:
