Vanessa Kirby, the up and coming actress who plays Princess Margaret (Queen Elizabeth’s sister) in Netflix’s award-winning new series The Crown, is reportedly finalizing her deal with Paramount concerning her role in the upcoming Mission: Impossible film. Kirby has apparently nabbed leading role along with Tom Cruise, who will be reprising his role as Ethan Hunt for an astonishing sixth time. Variety broke the story.
Other actors set to return are Simon Pegg, Jeremy Renner, and Rebecca Ferguson. However, the extent of their screen time hasn’t been made clear. With writer/director Christopher McQuarrie (Mission: Impossible — Rouge Nation) signed on to helm the project once again, this should make for one hell of a reunion.
The details of Kirby’s role have yet to be released, but if the previous films are any indication we’re sure she’ll be Mission: Impossible’s equivalent to a Bond girl…a Hunt girl? Like the details of her role, the details of the plot are also currently unknown, though a tentative release date has been set for July 27th 2018.
