Utkarsh Ambudkar (‘Pitch Perfect’) Joins ‘Mulan’

Utkarsh Ambudkar of the Pitch Perfect movies is joining the cast of Mulan, which includes Marco Polo’s Ron Yuan, Jet Li as the emperor, Gong Li as the villain, and Donnie Yen as Mulan’s mentor.

Liu Yifei takes on the role of the titular Mulan, who disguises herself as a man to join the army in the place of her elderly father. The original 1998 version starred Ming-Na Wen as the voice of Mulan, as well as Eddie Murphy and B.D. Wong.

Niki Caro is directing the film, which is scheduled to be released on March 27, 2020.
