The Owners, the directorial debut of Julius Berg featuring Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams, has finally found a home at RLEJ films, according to Variety. This thriller is currently set for a theatrical release sometime in Fall 2020, with no word on how the coronavirus and social distancing precautions will impact the release date.
Mark Ward, Chief Acquisitions Officer at RLJE Films stated in a press release, “Coming off the unprecedented success of ‘Game of Thrones,’ we’re excited to work with Maisie Williams and the other talented filmmakers and cast members who certainly brought their A game to produce an amazing thriller.”
The Owners stars Willaims as a young woman living in the 1990’s who discovers her boyfriend’s plot to commit a burglary with some of their friends, which soon spirals out of control. Jake Curran, Andrew Ellis, Sylvester McCoy, Ian Kenny and Rita Tushingham also star in the film. Berg not only directed the film, but additionally co-wrote its script with Geoff Cox and Matthieu Gompel.
The Owners was produced by both Alain de la Mata and Christopher Granier-Deferre, with Brahim Chioua, Gregory Strouk, Eric Tavitian, Frédéric Fiore, and Pape Boye as co-producers. Nate Bolotin and Maxime Cottray will serve as executive producers.
