The curtain is about to be lifted on Steven Spielberg’s next movie. The last trailer has just been released for Disclosure Day, ahead of its debut next month.
Disclosure Day follows a data collector and a meteorologist who unexpectedly cross paths in the wake of an unexplainable occurrence. When the pair discovers that the cause trails back to a government conspiracy, they’re forced to choose between staying silent and revealing to the entire planet that there’s life beyond Earth.
Emily Blunt and Josh O’Connor are set to star, with a supporting cast rounded out by Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, Colman Domingo, and Wyatt Russell.
Although it is Spielberg’s latest endeavor, this is far from his first time directing a movie focused on extraterrestrial life. Some examples include his 2005 remake of War Of The Worlds, as well as 1977’s Close Encounters Of The Third Kind, his second hit film behind Jaws. His most popular film with these ideas, however, and one of his most acclaimed works to date, was none other than E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial, which introduced audiences to the lovable E.T. Much like those films, Disclosure Day’s trailers up to this point have kept the otherworldly beings off screen, leaving audiences to wonder just what they can expect from this outing.
Disclosure Day hits theaters June 12th. Check out the trailer below.
