‘Underwater’ Trailer, Starring Kristen Stewart, Drags Us Below the Deep Sea

Kristen Stewart is back once again on the big screen for a deep sea thriller titled Underwater. Disney’s newly acquired Fox company released the first trailer for the upcoming movie on Monday. The movie focuses on the question we as people dare not to ask: what creatures lurk in the shadows of the deep sea?

The trailer starts with a dispatcher explaining to an oceanic crew that they are 5000 miles away from land and are being dropped seven miles deep to the bottom of the ocean. Expected to stay for a month, danger follows as rumblings begin to shake the underwater base. Kristen’s character notices drippings from the ceiling and soon it collapses, leaving the crew is in search of a contingency plan to escape.

With the ship in peril, the crew have no choice but to cross the ocean floor to a nearby station in hopes of survival. It’s not long till the members realize that they are not alone, cutting to a montage a tentacle-like creature snatching each individual one by one. The trailer ends with the group trying to save their own as he is being drug down somewhere below.

Underwater stars Kristen Stewart alongside T.J Miller, Vincent Cassel, Jessica Henwick, John Gallagher Jr. and Mamoudou Athie. The film is directed by William Eubank and has a release date of January 10th, 2020. Watch the trailer below:
