Earlier this week Russell Brand famous UK stand-up comedian was found guilty of a crimes of rape and sexual assault. Brand, who was previously married to famous musician Katy Perry was said by the London Metropolitan Police Service to have “used his influence, status and fame to exploit and sexually offend against women.”

The verdict is as follows. Russell Brand found guilty of rape and sexual assault against one woman in 2009 and assaulting three others 2004, 2005, and 2009, respectively. The jury which consists of eight men and four women though dismissed two separate charges of alleged rape and one count of alleged attempted indecent assault, after deliberating for 8 and a half hours. Prosecutors are now discussing whether to bring additional charges one of which includes the alleged assault of then 16 year old when he was 30, Russell Brand is now currently 51.
