Details concerning the Shane Black (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang) 1970s noir thriller The Nice Guys continue to pour in, as Keith David (Requiem for a Dream) and Beau Knapp (Super 8) have just been cast as its “bad guys,” according to The Hollywood Reporter. This comes after previous casting news for leads Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe, as well as co-star Matt Bomer (HBO’s The Normal Heart). David and Knapp will play suspects in the missing-persons case being carried out by private-eye (Gosling) and his muscle (Crowe). In a seemingly unlikely partnership, Knapp’s villain – a bungling smart-mouthed hitman – teams up with a much older (and most likely wiser) David. Perhaps the dynamic between these two will provide some droll twists, often characteristic of Black’s storytelling. David, a prolific actor, has several projects in the works, including another movie with Knapp called The Guilty Innocent. Knapp also has a role in the upcoming Jake Gyllenhaal-led boxing film Southpaw. As we have a lot time between now and The Nice Guys‘ June 17th, 2016 release date, make sure to check back for our continued coverage.
