The latest buddy comedy achieving critical and monetary success, One of Them Days, has arrived on VOD. The “Fast-Talking Day-in-the-Life-of-the-Hood Comedy Made with a ’90s Verve” stars Emmy-winner Keke Palmer and Grammy-winner SZA. Driven by immense talent, the film is also produced by acclaimed writer-actor, Issa Rae.
On February 11, the movie became available for rent or purchase on streamers like Prime Video and Apple TV+. Written by Syreeta Singleton of Rae’s Insecure and Rap Sh!t, One of Them Days has made more than double its production budget since its January 17 theatrical release by Sony.
Nadira Goffe for Slate, reviewed: “…the movie delivers plenty of laughs, socioeconomic messages, and Black female sisterhood (without the accompaniment of the severe trauma plot). The Black female buddy comedy is back and fresher than ever, a reminder of just how much this genre has to offer.”
With purchase, audiences are given access to bonus features such as a gag reel and cast interviews. Lawrence Lamont (Rap Sh!t) directed and comedic supporting cast members include Kat Williams (Friday After Next, Scary Movie V), Maude Apatow (Euphoria, The King of Staten Island), Janelle James (Abbott Elementary) and Lil Rey Howery (Get Out).
Streaming dates have not yet been announced. It will be available on DVD and Blu-Ray April 1.
