20th Century Fox has released the first official trailer for expected summer blockbuster X-Men: Apocalypse. It will ring more than familiar to say that the latest mission facing our mutant X-Men friends is their most challenging, but it may well apply here. The X-Men are faced against formidable odds as they must battle, with Apocalypse – the world’s first mutant. His plans, well, utter destruction, of course.
Director Bryan Singer returns to the his prized franchise (he’s directed every X-Men film with the exception of 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand and the 2011 reboot X-Men: First Class) from a script credited to Simon Kinberg (X-Men: Days of Future Past) – Singer, Kinberg and X-Men alums Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris each have a story credit.
James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult and Evan Peters all reprise fan favorite roles while the latest enlists the talents of Olivia Munn (Magic Mike), Tye Sheridan (Mud), Kodi Smit-McPhee (The Road), Sophie Tucker (Barely Lethal) and Ex Machina star Oscar Isaac as Apocalypse.
