Jordan Peele has his hands on a brand new project. Serving as a producer on the film, HIM is already starting to get fans eager to see what it has in store after the release of a brand new trailer.
The film follows an up and coming football superstar who suffers a traumatic accident at the height of his popularity, which could possibly end his career. But he finds help from an unexpected place when his secretly dangerous idol decides to start coaching him, leading him down a dangerous path he couldn’t have imagined.
Although only a producer on HIM, Peele has more than made a name for himself when it comes to horror. His directorial debut, 2017’s horror/thriller Get Out, was nothing short of a smash hit, and has cemented itself as a major pillar of film history, even under a decade since its release. Even as a producer he’s made a splash, with credits such as Candyman and BlacKkKlansman.
When reporting on the trailer, MovieWeb noted that it still has Peele’s fingerprints all over it. Their own analysis of the trailer includes describing the latter half as “something that resembles a bad acid trip.”
HIM is both helmed and written by Justin Tipping. Although hailing mostly from a background of various TV episodes, he also wrote and directed Kicks from 2016, as well as helming the miniseries Joe vs Carole.
