Disney released a trailer for the upcoming movie Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made which, according to MovieWeb, will be released exclusively on the Disney+ streaming service. The movie is based on the Timmy Failure book, which were written by writer and cartoonist by Stephan Pastis. Pastis is best known for being the creator of the comicstrip Pearls Before Swine.
Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made will follow the story of the titular Timmy Failure, a very serious 11 year-old boy living in the weirdest (and statistically the whitest) city in America: Portland, Oregon. Timmy is an amateur detective who traverses around the town on a segway called the Failure Mobile and is usually accompanied by his imaginary pet and detective partner Total, a 1500-pound polar bear. Based on the trailer, it seems like the movie’s plot will revolve around the theft of Timmy’s precious Failure Mobile and his quest to find it.
Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made is being directed by Tom McCarthy, best known for writing and directing 2015’s Spotlight, a much different movie compared to this one. Child actor Winslow Fegley will portray the Timmy and Ophelia Lovibond, who has been in several Marvel movies, is playing Timmy’s mother. Craig Robinson of Hot Tub Time Machine and Brooklyn 99 fame will be playing a therapist.
