The trailer for the upcoming documentary Zappa has just been released. As the title for the movie suggests, this documentary is going to be about the life and career of the legendary musician Frank Zappa. It is hard to describe the music of Frank Zappa, because throughout his long and prolific career he incorporated so many different styles and genres into his work, but he is often praised for his contribution to comedy rock. Zappa was also known for being an outspoken critic of mainstream media and organized religion, while championing self expression and freedom of speech.
According to Movie Web Magnolia Pictures will be releasing the movie on November 27th, 2020, and Alex Winter directed the documentary. Winter is of course best know for playing the character Bill S. Preston Esq. in the movie Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure and its two sequels, but Winter is also an accomplished director. He has directed several music videos, documentaries movies like Showbiz Kids and The Panama Papers, and feature films like the movie Freaked, which he also starred in.
The trailer for Zappa reveals some incredible footage of Frank Zappa including some never before seen archive footage. Apparently Winter has been working hard to capture the life of Zappa.
