‘Toy Story 4’ Has New Commercial Showing Old and New Friends

With the release looming ever closer, more advertisements for Pixar’s upcoming fourth installment of Toy Story are cropping up.  A new TV spot has been released for the film in question, exposing more of the toys’ antics in the new animated sequel.

The ad starts out with the typical set-up. The toys discuss new vacation plans alongside footage of Bo Peep interacting with Woody and Buzz encountering the new Carnival toys played by Jordan Peele and Keegan Michael Key. The ad also ends on a moment that is, while comedic, also on the dark side of comedy. The toys witness a cat ripping a poor innocent toy apart and all of them are shocked at the toy’s fluffy remains, ending on a rather humorous but dark moment for the Toy Story series.

Toy Story, in general, is known for doing very well with some more adult humor and this trailer showcases that edge. Hopefully, the film will fully continue that trend of Toy Story having mature themes and humor. Toy Story 4 is set to release on June 21, 2019.

Ryan Pineda: When it comes to film, animation, video games and other mediums, I can discuss for hours about how much on why certain films and animated media made me the person I am today. I adore the artistic merit that comes from a lot of pop-culture media and will definitely love to have a conversation about favorite movies any day! I have graduated in 2017 with a BA in Film and Television at the University of Arizona. Been passionate about writing about films due to always having an interesting outlook on the medium. Will always see a film and will definitely be sure to recommend it to someone that I know for a fact would love that movie. Not only that but will also give reasons for why I think that film did or did not work as a movie, and the same can go for other pieces of media like television, video games and especially animated projects.
