‘Toy Story 4’ gets New Trailer with More New Toys Featured

Toy Story 4 is now only a month away from being released. In celebration of the upcoming Pixar sequel, a new trailer has been released showcasing even more of what we may come to expect from the next installment of this franchise.

The trailer starts out with Forky questioning his existing and Woody explaining what his purpose actually is. It then leads to Bonnie going on a family vacation and bringing the toys with her. During the trip however, Forky ends up being blown out of the car and it’s up to Woody and Buzz Lightyear to save him. The gang seems to team up with other old friends including Bo Peep and newer characters, mainly Duke Kaboom played by Keanu Reeves. Duke Kaboom is Canadian stuntman toy that is incredibly flexible and can accomplish many stunts to help the toys find their Spork friend. The trailer then has more comedic and adventurous moments dealing with the toys, all set to Electric Light Orchestra’s Livin Thing. The trailer ends on a gag dealing with the new carnival toys played by Keegan Michael Key and Jordan Peele suggesting to Buzz on how to retrieve Forky by using a tactic called a Plush rush, however the trailer jokingly suggests that’s plan will not work.

The trailer has a lot more comedy and adventure compared to the other two trailers. Some are saying it might not have the heart of the other three Toy Story movies, but considering Pixar doesn’t reveal a whole lot in their trailers, many are hopeful that this fourth installment will justify its existence. It will at least be fun to witness new characters like Keanu Reeves’ toy being in a Toy Story film and returning favorites make a comeback like Bo Peep.

Toy Story 4 is set for release on June 21 2019.

Ryan Pineda: When it comes to film, animation, video games and other mediums, I can discuss for hours about how much on why certain films and animated media made me the person I am today. I adore the artistic merit that comes from a lot of pop-culture media and will definitely love to have a conversation about favorite movies any day! I have graduated in 2017 with a BA in Film and Television at the University of Arizona. Been passionate about writing about films due to always having an interesting outlook on the medium. Will always see a film and will definitely be sure to recommend it to someone that I know for a fact would love that movie. Not only that but will also give reasons for why I think that film did or did not work as a movie, and the same can go for other pieces of media like television, video games and especially animated projects.
