According to Deadline, Topher Grace (Truth) has been cast in Under the Silver Lake, joining Andrew Garfield (Hacksaw Ridge) and Dakota Johnson (Fifty Shades of Grey). David Robert Mitchell (It Follows) will helm from his own screenplay.
Described as a modern noir crime thriller, the story centers around an investigation into a billionaire’s murder and the whereabouts of a missing woman. Grace will play a friend to Garfield’s character. Los Angeles and its cult indie music scene will serve as a backdrop. Michael De Luca, Chris Bender, Jake Weiner, and Adele Romanski are producing. A24 Films acquired domestic rights at Cannes earlier this year.
Grace was in last year’s drama Truth starring Academy Award-winning actress Cate Blanchett (Carol) and Robert Redford (Pete’s Dragon). He has jut completed filming David Michôd’s War Machine starring Brad Pitt (The Big Short) and Academy Award-winning actress Tilda Swinton (Doctor Strange).
